The wheel of history spins fast.
Ninety-three springs and falls
Was only a blink in history.
The truth you predicted
Promotes the progress of th’ entire humanity.
The Haihe River winds onward in twisting billows,
How can it be compared with your experience –charming glow!
Your words: for the public interests and for the capability
Are an ardent call upon the numerous students.
Your words: days are new, and months ever changing
Are a solemn undertaking to the society.
In the late autumn of Nineteen Sixty-five
I whispered: Good bye to you.
No matter I was in a faraway land of the globe,
You always illuminated my advancing road.
No matter how difficult my mission was,
You always shared with me the weal and woe.
As the time goes on,
My yearnings, like grass, ever grow.
Forty-seven years later I came back to your embrace,
Feeling cozy at home.
I sized you up from the head to the toe,
You’re even more kindhearted and graceful.
Snuggling up in your arms,,
I heard your voice from the heart innermost:
There’s no peak to the highly civilization,
Eternal is climbing with might and main.
There’s no easy road to the lofty goal,
Eternal is dedication with heart and soul.
