54 young chefs at the White House

We invited fifty-four budding chefs to the White House yesterday afternoon.

The kids submitted the winning recipes for Epicurious's Healthy Lunchtime Challenge, and we honored them here with a "Kids' State Dinner" hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama in support of her Let's Move! initiative.

White House chefs whipped up some of the winning recipes, President Obama stopped by to say hello, and singer Rachel Crow gave a performance. There were balloon animals, too.

It was a great event, and for an important cause: helping to teach kids that creating healthy meals can be easy and tasty. That's what the First Lady meant yesterday, when she said, "We have seen that when kids like all of you get involved in creating your own healthy meals, the results can really be amazing and delicious and fun."

If you missed the fun yesterday, make sure you sign up for email updates from Let's Move!
