03/31/2018: Far Rockaway Pre-School Executive Director Sentenced to Jail Time for Theft of Education Funds Intended for Special Needs Students
Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown and New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli announced that the executive director of the Island Child Development Center, once one of the city's largest providers of special education services to preschoolers with disabilities, has been sentenced to six months in prison and probation after repaying $650,000 in restitution.
In his "Drum Major Instinct" sermon in Atlanta on February 4, 1968, Dr. King famously stated, "If you want to be important—wonderful. If you want to be recognized—wonderful. If you want to be great—wonderful. But recognize that he who is greatest among you shall be your servant … That's a new definition of greatness."

So tomorrow, when I consider all of the people in my life I’m thankful for, you’ll all be at the top of my list. Enjoy the holiday.

The majority of prescription drug abusers report getting their drugs from friends and family. Cleaning out old/unused medications from your home reduces accidents, misuse, and abuse of these medications including opioid painkillers. Eight out of ten new heroin users began by abusing prescription painkillers and moved to heroin when unable to obtain or afford prescription painkillers. |
